Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you offer?

Ripon Travel Softball offers teams at the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U age levels based on USA Softball age classifications. Team availability may vary from season to season depending on registration numbers.

Do players have to live in Ripon?

No. While our program is built to serve and develop Ripon athletes, we welcome players from surrounding communities when roster space is available. Consistent with our mission of strengthening Ripon softball, precedence is given to athletes who reside within the Ripon Area School District when roster decisions are necessary.

What is the difference between travel softball and recreational softball?

Travel softball is a competitive program designed for athletes who are committed to developing their skills through regular practices, league play, tournaments, and team activities. While we strive to create a positive experience for every player, participation requires a greater time commitment than recreational softball.

When does the travel softball season run?

The travel softball season typically begins with indoor practices in January, with teams moving outdoors to the fields in mid-to-late March, weather permitting. League play and tournament competition take place throughout the spring and summer, with most teams wrapping up their season by the end of July.
