Whether you're returning for another season or exploring our program for the first time, we're excited to meet you. Tryouts help us evaluate athletes, build competitive teams, and continue developing the future of Ripon softball.

What to Expect

Tryouts are designed to be a positive and encouraging experience for every athlete. Coaches evaluate players in several areas to help create teams where each athlete can continue to develop and succeed.

During tryouts, athletes may participate in:

Throwing & Catching
Fielding
Hitting
Speed & Athleticism
Coachability & Effort

Why Every Player Attends Tryouts

Every athlete, including returning players, is required to attend tryouts each season. Returning players are not guaranteed a roster spot, as teams are selected based on each athlete's current skills, development, effort, attitude, and overall team fit. This process helps ensure every player has a fair opportunity to earn a place on a team each season.

Can't Make Tryouts?

We understand that schedules and family commitments don't always align with our tryout date. If your athlete is unable to attend, please complete the registration form anyway. A coach will contact your family to arrange a private tryout.
